Snow Scoop

Silverthread Outdoor Recreation Club

District 7

What a beautiful Indian Summer we are having in South Fork. Our days have been absolutely gorgeous, of course it gets chilly real fast when the sun sets. Our color is all gone, we have had a lot of wind this fall. The hunters have been showing up in large numbers. We hope they have been successful.

Although we have had some snow in the higher mountains and even a little in town, because of the warm daytime temps, it is mostly gone. So, everyone needs to think SNOW!!

We are looking forward to a great Snowmobiling season, but, we need snow first.

Our club meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Community Building in South Fork. We have a Potluck meal at 6:30 pm, with the business meeting following. Since we are a year round club, we have many activities going on all the time. We are still meeting for Hiking on Tuesdays, but will change to Snowshoeing when we get enough snow. We would like for anyone interested to join us for a meeting and hear what our club is all about.

The guys have gotten our Snow Cat ready to groom the trails for the season, so, bring on the snow. George Powell, our President, says he is anxious to get at the trail grooming. We are planning an ATV workday to go out and plant the poles for the trails.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Turkey Day. Remember to think SNOW and it probably wouldn’t hurt to do your Snow Dance!!

Take care,

Elizabeth Baugh
