Club minutes

The meeting was called to order by President George Powell at 7:10 pm in the South Fork Community Building.

George welcomed everyone, 20 club members present, 1 guest.

George asked if everyone had a chance to read the April club minutes. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes, motion carried.

Financial Report: Rex presented the current report. A significant grooming payment will be reflected in next month’s report. A motion was made and seconded to accept the May report. Motion carried.

President’s Report: George reports the board has accepted Powder Busters’ offer to allow our club to store the cat in their facility for $300/ year, the amount of their yearly insurance premium for the building.

ATV Report: So far, 96 man hours in the past 2 months have been spent by club members clearing tails on work rides. George cautions everyone to be careful crossing creeks as they are running high. The Forest Service will assess Church Creek trail and fill in bad spots with rocks.

Hiking Report: Gail Longfellow gave the report on the day’s hike in English Valley by the Old Roman Road. Photos were taken of a small rattle snake on the hike. Next Tuesday’s trek will be Mosca Pass for hardy hikers.

Forest Service: Dennis Vincent announced chain saw safety courses will be held June 8 and 13. Lloyd Thiesfeld will coordinate this activity for club members. FYI: Dennis’s email is dennisvincent@fs.fed.us.

Sales Report: Le Shepherd reports that the quilt is now being completed. A booth will be set up at the Taste of Creede Festival during Memorial Day weekend to sell raffle tickets. Volunteers will be needed to man the booth.

Old Business: The revised by laws will be presented at the June Meeting. The Blue Peaks fishing day will take place June 22. The South Fork Fishing Derby will be June 23. The Goetz’s and DeGrado’s will donate caps for Blue Peaks clients.

 

 

 

New Business: There will be a clean up day Saturday May 19 at 10am. Barbequed chicken will be provided by Rex afterwards at the Powell’s home. Harry Fluke will pick up the big orange plastic trash bags from the Highway Department.

Next month’s meeting will be a cook out at Alder Creek Guard Station weather permitting, or Masonic Park Pavilion if not. Bring salad or desert to go with ribs, yams and corn-on-the-cob.

50-50 Drawing: The winner was Dwayne, and he donated his half to the club.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm.
