Snow Scoop
Silverthread Outdoor Recreation Club
District 7
Hello Snowmobilers,
The snow is still falling in our mountains, we have lots of snow. With March coming and supposed to be one of our snowiest months of the year, we should get more, so plan on being able to snowmobile for another 4 to 6 weeks.
Our club had a fun outing last week, Winter Olympics. We had a large group participate and lots of fun. Between the snowmobile ride to Melino Park, the sled races and hot dogs cooked on the mountain side, it was a great day. The weather turned cold and snow came just as we were finishing the day. The women out distanced the men in the sled races, so next year should be interesting.
Our club is scheduling weekly rides on Saturdays. We meet at the Visitor Center in South Fork at 9:00 am. We welcome anyone who wants to ride with us.
The Snowshoers are going out on Monday mornings and are having great trips. They leave from the Community Building in South Fork at 9:00 am. It’s a great way to experience the outdoors and good fellowship.
George Powell and other club members are grooming trails and will continue to do so, as long as we keep getting snow. We all need to be aware of the snow and conditions in the area we are riding in. Be aware and ride safely.
We encourage you to come ride some of the best trails in the area. We wish everyone a safe and fun season. Life is definitely good in our mountains!
Be Safe and Happy Riding.
