Snow Scoop

Silverthread Outdoor Recreation Club

District 7

Hello Fellow Snowmobilers,

We have snow, lots of snow and are getting more at this time.

Club members George and Harolena Powell, Sonny and Jody Hiett, Roland Schwery and Lloyd Thiesfeld have been busy grooming our trails on Pool Table and Blow Out. They have groomed and set poles, so the trails are ready. We have lots of good snow and groomed trails for riding. Come ride the trails and enjoy great conditions.

Our Snowshoe group has been busy each week on Mondays. This past Monday they had a Moonlight Snowshoe Outing complete with a fire, hot dogs, sloppy joes and lots of deserts. A good time was had by all attending. They snowshoe on Mondays, meet at 9:00 am at the Community Building in South Fork. They would like for any one interested to join them.

Some of our club members are cross country skiing. There are several different trails maintained. I went last week and it was a lot of work, but a very enjoyable experience.

The downhill skiing at Wolf Creek is great right now. We have had over 267 inches of snow to date, makes for good skiing. During the week, there isn’t a lift line and you can ski without having to worry about getting run over or running over some one else.

The club will be scheduling weekly snowmobile rides on Saturdays. We meet at the Visitor’s Center at 9:00 am. Come join us and have a good ride with great people.

Hope everyone is enjoying all this wonderful snow we are receiving this season. Be aware of avalanche conditions and the area you are riding in. Have fun and ride safe.

Come join us in South Fork for any of the outdoor activities available at this time, there’s something for everyone.

Be Safe and Happy Riding.
