South Fork Community Building

Club minutes

The meeting was called to order by Dwayne Powers, Vice- President at 7:00.

Dwayne welcomed everyone; 29 club members were present, with 1 guest.

Dwayne asked if everyone had a chance to read the November club minutes. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes; motion carried.

Financial Report: Rex reported that the lack of snow last winter resulted in much less grooming money than had been expected.  The 2005 groomer payment was made. CSA dues were paid.  We will still need $3,000 in fund raising. Grooming money looks good this year.

President’s Report: Dwayne presented since George was out of town. There was a building for sale that was considered for the club, but the board voted against purchasing it. The club will again participate in the Health Fair in Del Norte on March 24; Lloyd and Barbara will coordinate. Lloyd will also coordinate the ATV safety course. It was reported that Bert Thomas is recuperating well from his recent illness. A working snow mobile ride is needed to secure poles.

Grooming Report: Rex reported that as of January 8, we have 55 hours of grooming time, resulting in over $2,000.00. Last year we had 35 hours.

Snowshoe Report: Sally Towns reported for Doug Knudson, The last outing was extremely cold, but the scenery was fabulous. About 6 members participated.

Old Business: A total of $439.00 was raised for the family of Art Marcilla and will be given directly to the family. The club will host the community potluck in April.

New Business: Volunteers are needed for the Fund Raising Committee. The first event will likely be in February, with another during spring break in March. The board will have a calendar this year so all club members will be informed as to what is taking place.

Helping Hand Award: Connie Gillespie presented the award to Lloyd Thiesfeld for all his efforts on behalf of the club and the community.

50/50 Drawing: Sally Towns was the winner and donated her half back to the club.

Dick Shaw announced that the Home and Garden Show will be held in Monte Vista April 28-29 at the Sky High Park.

Motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 7:30; motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Sally Towns
