Club Minutes

O.V. Keith said the Blessing for the Pot Luck meal and meeting.

George called the meeting to order at 7:20 pm, he led the members in the pledge for the American flag. He extended a welcome the 34 club members and 3 guests present. He expressed appreciation to Rex Blanco for cooking the chicken for the meal.

George asked if everyone had reviewed the minutes from the June meeting. Motion made and seconded to accept the minutes, motion passed.

Financial Report: Rex reviewed expenses and income for the month. He reported various donations totaling $130.00. Rex stated that the Potato Bake and Silent Auction should clear around $1500.00.

Rex stated that we are having another fundraising effort with the Garage Sale on August 4th and 5th. We will have a Bake Sale at the same time. We need Bake Sale items. He requested that all Garage Sale items be at his house by July 31st. Will need workers to help sort, price and set up on August 2nd and 3rd, as well as workers to help on the sale days. Garage Sale hours are 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday and 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday. Com and help!

Motion made and seconded to accept the Financial Report, motion passed.

President’s Report: George reported that he had visited with Betty Jefferson and she was very appreciative for the cards sent. Gary Goetz still in the hospital in Denver following his ATV incident, he hopes to be home soon. Lois Smith also had an ATV incident, but is doing alright, she was not seriously hurt.

Hiking Report: Doug Knudson reported the hikers has hiked Ivy Creek today and didn’t get wet. Have scheduled to hike the part of the Continental Divide Trail next week, will leave the Community Building at 8:00 am instead of 9:00 am. Will continue to have scheduled hikes on Tuesdays. Come join the fun.

ATV Report: Joe DeGrado reported that a safety committee had been formed earlier in the year, members are: Dick & Cherry Shaw, Frank & Cindy Walter, Tommy & Gary Goetz and Joe & Joyce. Joe has been sending out safety tips with the e-mail notices for the scheduled rides. Have had a good season so far, with few incidents or accidents. Next week’s ride will be to old Carson and the American Basin to see the wildflowers, will leave at 8:00 am.

George reported that he had calls regarding trails 331 and 898 having trees down. He would like volunteers to go out and clear the trails.

Social Report: Harolena reported that since they are getting ready to move, Dwayne will have the club boxes with all the goodies in them.

Fund Raising Report: Barbara reported that we now have short sleeve T-Shirts to sell, as well as the other items. Knives have been priced to sell at $5.00 each. Mary Ann Morris made and donated scarves for ATV or Snowmobiling, will sell for $5.00 each. Let Barbara know if you need anything.

Old Business: Le Shepherd reported that a group had gotten together and cleaned the kitchen at the Community Building again. Needs to be done on a quarterly basis. Thanks to all who helped clean.

New Business: Edna reported on a concert to be held Saturday night to benefit the new Library Building fund, she has tickets for sale.

FFOF Award: Joe DeGrado had Jay Becker to explain why he had the FFOF. Joe presented the award to Barbara Thiesfeld for an ATV incident.

50/50: Louis Adams won the 50/50 drawing and donated her half to the club. Total $18.00

Dwayne Powers made a motion to adjourn at 7:55 pm. Motion carried.
