Snow Scoop

Silverthread Outdoor Recreation Club

District 7

We are still in need of snow. A storm dumped about 24 inches in the high mountains earlier this month. Sure was nice to see and ride in. We have had some scheduled rides, but have to drive a ways to get to the snow.

On the 25th we had a combination day of snowmobiling, riding sleds and tubes. We cooked hot dogs on the mountain and enjoyed lots of good fellowship. We presented medals to the winners of the Ladies and Men’s competition. We had our own Winter Olympics! There were 25 snowmobiles that day and a few got motion impaired at times. We had a great day.

Our club meeting date has changed to the 3rd Tuesday of each month. We meet at the Community Building in South Fork. Pot Luck is at 6:30 pm, with a business meeting following. If you are in the area, we invite you to attend our meeting. The food is always plentiful and very good.

We will be hosting a Spaghetti Supper on March 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm for a fundraiser. Come have a good meal if you are in the area.

Some of our club members are still snowshoeing on Mondays, although snow is getting harder to find in our area. We had a great Moonlight Snowshoe Outing this month, a good time was had by all.

Maybe we will see some of you at Craig for the CSA convention.

Be safe and Think Snow!!
