Snow Scoop
Silverthread Outdoor Recreation Club
District 7
The Silverthreaders are so excited, our new snowcat was delivered on Monday. Now, if we could get snow, we would be ready to ride. Although, I believe there may be enough snow to groom the trails in the high mountains. George Powell, club President, and other club members attended training for the new groomer. They are all ready to tackle the trails with the new groomer. Pray for snow in our area. We want to play, too. We know that other parts of Colorado are getting lots of the white stuff.
Our club members are still hiking on Tuesdays, since there isn’t enough snow to snowshoe or cross country ski at this time. Wolf Creek Ski area is open, but the skiing is very challenging (lots of obstacles).
We will have our club Christmas Party on December 10th and we invite anyone to join us. We always have a great time. Lots of good food, fellowship and the Gift Exchange is interesting. Contact Harolena Powell, if you are interested in attending. 873-5902
We made a trip up on Pool Table the day after Thanksgiving to cut Christmas trees. This year we traveled by ATVs, last year we had to use our snowmobiles. We ran across some snow, but not enough to ride our machines on. What a difference between this year and last. But, it was a fun outing and of course, we found beautiful trees.
Our club meets the last Tuesday of each month and we invite you to attend a meeting if you are in our area. We have pot luck dinner and then a Business meeting. The food is always great. Fellowship is the best!~
We wish each of you and your families a safe and Happy Holiday Season. May 2006 be a Successful, Healthy and Happy year for each of you!
Merry Christmas!!
