Minutes
Potluck at 6:30 pm in Del Norte Annex, O.V. Keith gave the blessing for the food.
George Powell, President, called the meeting to order at 7:07 pm. He led the club in the pledge to the American flag. 31 club members present with 2 guests.
George asked if everyone had seen the minutes of the last meeting, if there were additions or corrections. Lloyd Thiesfeld made a motion to accept the minutes, Royce Baugh seconded it. Motion carried.
President’s Report: George reported that had Board meeting on Monday night. Rex and Lloyd have been working on the budget for 2006. Reviewed budget by line items and made corrections and suggestions. We will have the finished budget next month. George thanked all club members for the extra donations to the Groomer Fund. He reported that the new snowcat is not here yet. He has made arrangements to store the new groomer at Babcock’s Rental inside a locked fence, along with the Fuel storage tank.
Treasurer’s Report: Rex reported that we have a positive number for October. He reported that we have had over $600.00 in donations the last couple of months towards the Groomer Fund.
Social Report: Harolena reported on activities over the last month. She stated that our club Christmas Party will be Dec. 10th at the Del Norte Annex. We will not have a catered meal this year. We are planning to charge $5.00 per plate for the dinner and will prepare the food ourselves. Invitations will be mailed in November, any club member planning to attend needs to RSVP. We will have a Gift Exchange, all gifts need to be wrapped and marked for Lady or Man. Gift limit is $15.00.
ATV Report: George reported that we had a pretty ride past Shaw lake early in the month. Not riding with Hunting Season in full force. He is planning an ATV ride for a workday on Friday to put out snowmobile poles and signs on Friday. Meet at the Visitor’s Center at 9:00 am, need to bring hammers and pruning tools. Club will provide the lunch.
Hiking Report: Doug Knudson reported that we are still having weekly hikes. Have been hiking in the lower areas, due to the Hunting Season. The Hiking group will have a lunch on Sunday at Eve & Ozzie Wells, and then go to Big Meadow to hike and pick up trash. They will continue to hike weekly until it snows and then start snowshoe outings each week. Meet at the Community Center in South Fork on Tuesdays at 9:00 am.
Old Business: George read a Thank You card from Blue Peaks for the last Fishing Outing we has for them. He announced that Dick & Cherry Shaw would have an Open House and Blessing for their new home on Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
George reported that we will have elections next month for the Vice-President and Treasurer. Dwayne Powers and Rex Blanco have both consented to run again.
George reported that we have looked at some lots in the Alpine area for future purchase. Would like to build a pole barn for storage for the snowcat. They are checking the Building codes, etc for the area.
George reported that we have sent paperwork in to the Forest Service to get our club classified as a year round club. When this is done, we will be eligible for the ATV Safety course they offer in Creede. We should be able to sign up for classes next spring. He stated that several club members may need to take a Chainsaw Safety Course.
Barbara Thiesfeld reported that we have Special Caps and Sweatshirts for sale for a Fund raiser. If interested, need to contact her for ordering information. Still have the pocket knives for sale also.
New Business: George reported that the budget for 2006 is going to be very tight, because of the purchase of the new groomer. We will not be supplying food for campouts and other activities.
He reported that Sonny Hiett will be in charge of all Equipment maintenance and repairs this season. Harolena will be in charge of Food and Supplies for club activities. All expenses must be approved by George and Rex.
Linda Cross questioned if we would be making monetary donations this year. George stated that we have several different Community Service Projects that we provide food and labor for, so we will not make monetary donations.
Wayne Jefferson won the 50/50 drawing. He donated his part to the club.
Doug Knudson made a motion to adjourn, Royce Baugh seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 pm.
