Minutes:  George stated that the minutes are posted on the Silverthread web site monthly.  Asked for approval of February minutes.  Royce made motion, seconded by Fred, motion carried.

Presidents Report:  George reported that the club had a busy month with lots of snowmobile rides, snowshoe activities and grooming.  He reported that he is currently looking for a new groomer at a reasonable price.

Financial Report:  Rex Blanco gave his Treasurer’s report.  Stated that have received club renewals from Businesses after a mail out.  Still have outstanding funds for March grooming.

Grooming Report:  Dennis stated that we have completed the allotted grooming hours for the year.  He stated that Rowland Schwery and Joe DeGrado have done good jobs with the groomer and will be able to groom next season on their own.  Had a great snow season this year.

Snowshoe Report:  Dennis stated that the last snowshoe outing for the season was on Monday, March 28th.  Frank & Cindy Walter instructed a Snow Cave class last week and all club members had a great time.  Had good participation this year and some great moonlight outings.  Club members will start hiking next week, will meet at the Community Building on Tuesdays at 9:00 am.

Snowmobile Report:  Dennis stated that we have had weekly rides this season.  The snow has been and is still great.  Will ride Fox mountain on Saturday.  The last club ride will be April 6th.  Plan to ride ATVs on April 7th.  Dennis brought state flags for any club member who wants to fly them on their ATV or Snowmobile. Thanks to all who have participated.

Social Report:  Harolena reported that we had assisted Creede with the CSA convention in March.  Had 25 people for the Moonlight Snowshoe outing, Eve & Ozzie provided hot dogs, etc.  Attempted Moonlight Snowmobile outing, but weather got too bad.  Asked for suggestions for summer campouts or activities.

Old Business:    George reported on CSA convention in Creede.  He stated that our club carries insurance to cover snowmobiles and ATVs.  CSA wants each club to carry their insurance, which only covers snowmobiles.  Much discussion regarding insurance at convention, hopefully we will see changes next season.

George reported that he had talked with Ronny Day, Forest Service, regarding holding an ATV Poker Run.  He believes this to be a possibility.  Would like to ride in August and the route would be on Pool Table starting at Hansen’s Mill.  Dennis will apply for permit and determine route.

George showed the Silverthread flags for ATVs or Snowmobiles.  All material and sewing was donated by Dwayne Powers, Harolena Powell and Le Shepherd.  Cost of imprint for letters was $5.00 each.  Club members may purchase for $5.00.

New Business:  George showed the long sleeve blue t-shirts with Silverthreaders on back.  The Board of Directors voted to pay for part of the cost, club members may order t-shirts at a cost of $7.00 each.  Contact Barbara Thiesfeld for ordering information for t-shirts and jackets.

George stated that with the ATV season approaching, we need to plan for fewer accidents than last season.  We all need to be more aware of our skills and surroundings each ride.  It was suggested that we all slow down.  George will inquire about a safety course to be instructed for all club members.

Jim Hood reported that on April 21st, the Kiwanis will sponsor a safety show for kids at the school.  Asked if any club members would present a safety program for ATV use.  If interested let Jim know.

F F O F Award:   Joyce DeGrado presented (passed on) the award to Le Shepherd for a snowmobile incident.

50 / 50 Drawing:  Dwayne Powers won.

Motion made and seconded that meeting adjourn.  8:05 pm
