Minutes
Potluck at 6:30 pm in Del Norte Annex, O.V. Keith gave the blessing for the food.
George Powell, President, called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. Lloyd Thiesfeld led the pledge to the US flag. 25 members present and 1 guest (new member now)
George stated that the monthly minutes will be posted on the website, for those who want to review them. Le questioned if still mailing to those who do not have Internet access? No, but we will. Le will get a list of the members for Elizabeth. George stated that a correction be made to the January minutes, with Edna Powers being listed as a director in place of Harolena Powell. Motion made and seconded to accept minutes
Treasurer’s Report:
Rex Blanco gave the Budget Report for 2005. He reported on the February expenses. He stated that we have a nice income from the Grooming at this time.Groomer Report:
Dennis Shepherd reported that the groomer is currently stuck on the mountain, but hope to get it out on Wednesday. Haven’t done much grooming this month, but hope to get in 3 or 4 days this month. He reported that Blow Out and Pool Table both need grooming done, because of the new snow received lately. George thanked Wayne Jefferson and Al for bringing them off the mountain when they got stuck.Snowshoe Report:
Dennis stated that still having weekly snowshoe outings. Had a Fish Fry at the Moonlight Snowshoe on Monday. Thanks to Dwayne, Ozzie, Burt, George and Rex for cooking. A good time was had by all there. Still meeting at 10:00 am on Mondays, may need to change time as the weather arms up. Next outing, Alberta LakeSocial Director’s Report:
Harolena Powell reported that joined the Creede snowmobile club and rode to Wheeler on Friday. Had a Moonlight outing on the way back at Hansen’s Mill. Thanked Dwayne for the stew. Some of our Club members helped with the Snowmobile Poker Run on Saturday. Good turn out and it snowed all day.Trail Ride Report:
Dennis reported that still having rides on Saturdays. The next ride is scheduled for Fox Mountain, we can still go up Park Creek road. If anyone has a special request for a ride, need to let Dennis know. We have had good participation for the rides and no one has been hurt. Yea!Old Business:
George reported that the Board meetings will be at 5:00 pm each month before the regular club meeting. He invited anyone to attend who wants to. If there is something that needs to be scheduled for the board meeting, please let George know.
George reminded everyone about the CSA convention in Creede in March. Our club will be assisting them as needed. Can probably still get reservations for the banquet.
George thanked Doug Knudson and Dennis Shepherd for sending a letter to Peter Clark, supervisor for the Rio Grand National Forrest service. George had visited with Ronny Day and he stated he was very appreciative of everything our club does to assist them with trails, etc. Ronny would like to present a program to the club in the future. Doug suggested we send a meeting notification to the District Ranger.
George reported that had 67 people enter the Poker Run and a total of 81 hands. Had lots of new snow and the road was lick coming down from Beaver. He thanked Harolena and Elizabeth for getting Door Prizes.
Titling Bill:
George reported that we got our point across and the bill will not come up again, for a while.
New Business:
George reported on the blue flags that Dwayne, Harolena and Le having been working on for our ATVs, etc. They will have the Silverthreaders printed on them and we will check on rods to mount them with.
George reported that we will not have an ATV Poker Run this summer, because insurance is too expensive.
George stated that we have some new members who need to get a club jacket if they want. We need to place an order for as many at a time as possible. The Board decided to pay ½ for new members or any one needing a replacement jacket. Cost is approximately $65.00 each. Barbara stated that vests and hats are also available at the club member’s expense.
Le Shepherd thanked Harolena for the table decorations for the meeting.
Betty Jefferson read a newspaper article from the Denver Post pertaining to snowmobiling. It was a positive for snowmobiling.
Barbara Thiesfeld presented the FFOF award to Joyce DeGrado for her snowmobile incident.
Roland Schwery won the 50-50.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
