SILVERTHREADERS OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL CLUB
Minutes of meeting held November 30, 2004
Nineteen were in attendance for the potluck, held at 6:30 pm in the Del Norte annex. O.V. Keith blessed the food and reminded us to count our many blessings.
Twenty were present for the meeting, which was opened by President Dennis Shepherd at 6:55 pm.
The minutes were approved as e-mailed with Royce Baugh making the motion and Rex Blanco second, motion carried.
Treasurers Report:
Rex had handouts and explained the itemized accounting. Judy Knudson moved to accept the report, second by Nancy Nelson, motion carried. The financial statement is attached to the original minutes.President’s Report:
Concerns were expressed for members and friends with health problems: Barbara Thiesfeld, Royce Baugh, George Powell, Steve Cross, Roy Snyder, O.V. Keith, Ned Libby and Jim Snyder. (2) There is an a avalanche trainingSession at Buena Vista on Jan 7-8 if anyone is interested. (3) Mail is available on the table for those interested; also a newsletter from Old Spanish Trail. (4) CSA Signs: a sign up sheet will be passed around if you want to volunteer.
Groomers: 26 hours was turned in for reimbursement as Tuesday, Wed. & Friday were workdays. There will be a meeting soon for Groomers regarding the sno-cat. The snow was good on Blow Out Pass.
Trails Boss:
Doug informed the Club about a convention to be held in Las Vegas in June 2005 regarding the Old Spanish Trail.Hikers:
Nancy reported that hiking is done for this year. The last hike was to the Rainbow Springs.Snowshoeing:
They have had a couple of outings and a sign up sheet is available for everyone’s request of where they want to go.Old Business:
A decision had been made about the Raffle tickets: the money was sent in to CSA and also any unsold tickets. (2) Nominations were made from the floor for the positions of President & Secretary for next year. Harolena Powell nominated Elizabeth Baugh, Roy Snyder made the motion that nominations cease, second by Jim Hood, vote was favorable and Elizabeth will be the new Secretary. There were no nominations made for President at this time.New Business:
Membership time is here- please send those dues in.(2) The Board met on Nov.22, 2004, reviewing several items, one of which was a statement of repair for the sno-cat. The amount had exceeded the budgeted amt., however, the Board voted to pay the statement. (3) CSA Exec. Director may be dismissed, to prevent it however, CSA wanted $1800 from our Club or $25 per member to help with his salary. The Board decided not to support either of these options. (4) Dennis will check with Charlie Cox about insurance coverage as it has been learned there is no coverage on the snow-cat at this time! (5) Christmas Tree at the Visitors Center: Harolena and Elizabeth are in charge of decorating the tree for the Club, doing blue & silver. (6) Blue Ribbon Coalition information on the table, they want to know if our Club wants to join for $100 a year? There was little discussion and not a decision made.F.F.O.F
.-This was presented to Dennis for getting his ATV stuck in the snow instead of a snowmobile.50/50 drawing:
$20 collected and half of this went to the winners, Doug & Judy Knudson and half will remain in the Club.Dennis thanked the members for the support given him as President over these past few years. The meeting was adjourned.
