Minutes of September 28, 2004
Potluck began at 6:30 pm with Roy Snyder giving the blessing. Dennis called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm with 21 members in attendance, followed by the Pledge to the flag.

of the August meeting were approved by Nancy Nelson, second by Jim Hood, motion carried.Treasurers Report: Rex announced that dues are starting to come in and that the income for the month has been $352. 00 and those expenses in preparation of getting the groomer ready for winter has been $ 2400; the present checking account balance is $19,677.
Presidents Report:
Dennis thanked everyone for all the participation in summer activities. Also Gary Wall contacted Dennis, that his wife Doretha, had broken her leg while hiking on Bear Creek Trail. They have returned to OK for medical care.Hikers:
Nancy Nelson reported that eight had hiked today and that it is now necessary to wear orange because of hunting season. There may be 3 or 4 more hiking Tuesdays, weather permitting. Everyone was reminded the hiking group welcomes all who want to participate.Melinda Tagtmeier’s mother has passed away in Florida; the Club will send a card of sympathy.
Social coordinator:
Rex wants to retire from this job, however, no one volunteered to step forward. Therefore , everyone is to bring their own table service and condiments to go with the food item they bring. THE CLUB WILL NO LONGER BE PROVIDING THIS SERVICE! Steve and Linda Cross will donate a large drink cooler when there is a group activity.Maintenance:
Two and one half days were spent in replacing 12 belts and 6 or 7 cleats on the sno-cat. Guys helping were Sonny Hiett, Wayne Jefferson, Dwayne Powers, Jay Webb, Jim Snyder and Dennis, they used a building owned by Cal Harding. Cross’s brought oil sample kits so that the oil can be checked.All officers need to go to the Community Bank and sign the signature card. There was some discussion about retaining money for the goal of attaining a different groomer, opposing the present policy of giving to a charity each year. This will be discussed more within the next couple of months. A request of finding " a bar fence stretcher", the club could use 2 of them. This tool helps when the need arises in repairing the groomer tracks. Jim Hood will look and perhaps could help but if anyone else would donate one, please do so.
Old Business:
The club will participate in the South Fork Chili Cook Off, October 15th. Those that volunteered to donate chili were: Nancy Nelson, Betty Jefferson, Dwayne Powers, Jim Hood. There will also be a Pie Auction as a Club fund-raiser, Dwayne Powers will be the auctioneer. LADIES- PLEASE PROVIDE A PIE AND HAVE IT AT THE COMMUNITY BUILDING OCTOBER 15th by 4:30 pm. Pocket knives and CSA raffle tickets will also be sold. (2) The Cross Creek Trail has been improved by Frank Walter, Rick Tucker and friend Carlos, Gary Wall and Dennis. (3) A date will be announced for a work day in repairing platforms for the potties.New Business:
Dues are presently due- Family membership cost $15, Family membership snowmobile $30, Business membership cost $25, Business membership snowmobile $50. (2) The packet has been received from CSA for raffle tickets and the cost is $10 per ticket. (3) The Snow Show will be October 8 & 9 in Denver the Shepherds will represent the Club and Creede & South Fork will share one booth. (3) Maps: Josephine contacted Dennis and more maps are to be printed; 10,000 maps have been used in 15 months so the order will be increased this time. The Board of Tourism pays for the maps. (4) No CSA Report, F.F.O.F award or 50/50 drawing.There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm. The next meeting will be October 26th.
