The meeting was called to order by Dennis with the pledge to
our flag following. There were 35 in
attendance with guests, Barbara Davis, Paul Williams and Charlie Warren. Members John and Melba Self from
George reported that we have four members who groom trails with another member in training, and we have already received about 60% of our grooming funds. Feb. 7th will be our next moonlight ride to Bristol Head.
Doug stated we have applied for three extensions on our
snowmobile trails, and one has been approved.
The hiking group is going to plan an outing at
Sonny reported all the equipment is in good shape at the present time.
Dennis gave a report on the snowmobile rides with the last moonlight ride on Pool Table being a huge success with 40 present. Hikes are being set up for the spring. We will have another moonlight outing for snowshoers and cross-country skiers on Feb.6th beginning at 6:30 at the Beaver Creek campground parking area. Those who ski or snowshoe will meet at 10:30 at the Community Bldg on Wednesdays and Mondays.
Our map is at the printer and the 5,000 copies should be available for distribution the first of March. The map has been revised to include three new ATV trails.
George reported on a 2001 model groomer. The consensus of the Club is to wait and see if the CSA Capital Grant is approved before any commitment is made to purchase the groomer. The decision regarding the Grant will be made next August.
The 2004 budget was approved with a motion by Dwayne and second by Sonny.
The Club voted for the incumbent candidates on the CSA ballot with a motion by John Self and second by Steve Cross.
Vests are available for members to purchase. Rita made the motion for the Club not to pay half the cost since it is our goal to purchase in the near future a newer model groomer; second by George. Motion passed.
Our Club will help the Powder Busters with their Poker Run on Feb. 21st.
Mac gave an update on the proposed change in trail numbering.
The Club voted to donate $200.00 to the family of the Del Norte wrestler who was injured. Motion was by Dwayne with second by John Self.
There was not a “worthy” recipient for the FFOF award, so it stays with Dennis.
